Blending animated storytelling with live performances by up-and-coming comediennes, "The Men's Room Comedy Show," a made-for-cable television series, provides a unique female spin on topical events, important issues, or real life things that just happen to strike our fancy.
The animated characters, much like the characters you meet in real life, are mainly a bunch of dicks – literally! The animation is charmingly simplistic in the " South Park " style, but it packs a punch rarely seen on TV or cable. The look leans to artistically comical rather than gratuitously grotesque, the better to point out the absurdity of our world, and the absurd opinions we have about it.
Bombs Away" - the first of the series - satirized Osama Bin Laden and his followers while combining the delightful live performances of comediennes Vanessa Hollingshead, Shazia Mirza and our animated reporter: the confident, classy, and always sassy Margarita Del valle Fernandez. Her normally dark hair is covered up inside a Muslim head wrap, but her proud face is clearly visible. Though clearly Spanish in decent, she speaks in an upper class British accent. Margarita shows us the crude reality that the Western Hemisphere is facing with Islamic extremists.
